It is important that RMA members write to, email or otherwise lobby their local TDs, asking them to oppose renewal of the FEMPI legislation, as soon as possible. This is because the new Government intends to renew the legislation, which they must bring before the Dail by June 30^th. The continuation of FEMPI will involve a vote on the re-certification of the existence of a Financial Emergency. Under the Act, in order to justify continuing levying our pensions, the Government must certify the Financial Emergency by June 30^th next.
