Mary Friel retired from CDETB in 2014 having been a principal for her final 14 years. Mary developed her interest in mediation initially as a TUI area officer and Executive member.
Having trained as a Mediator in 2012 and later doing a Masters in Mediation & Conflict Studies Mary has worked in schools and volunteered in the community as a Mediator. She also volunteers with PACE (an arm of the probation services) working with ex-offenders.

AGEISM IN IRELAND
A SUMMARY OF THREE RECENT REPORTS

Dore Fischer is our Dublin Branch Committee Equality Officer. She is also a member of the Research Advisory Group of Age & Opportunity which is one of the 7 members of the Age Alliance Ireland.
Dore's presentation will be based on three different report:
1. Is Ageism ever acceptable? Significant themes emerging from five online Citizens’ Assemblies (August 2021)
2. Telling it like it is: Combating Ageism – a Snapshot (January 2023)
3. Rights and Duty: The voice of older persons as Rights Holders (September 2023)
Dore was a member of the advisory group for these assemblies and also participated in one of them.
