10:45 am: Dublin Branch Social/Culture Event10:45 am: Dublin Branch Social/Culture Event Dear Colleagues, After our recent, very informative and enjoyable guided tour of St Patrick's Cathedral by Kevine Devine for our next event we are going North Side. We have arranged for a Guided Tour of 14 Henrietta Street on Thursday 26th May - meet-up in the reception hall at 10.45am. When you enter no. 14 you will experience 300 years of Dublin city life in the walls of one address. The guided tour brings you on a journey from the house's grand Georgian beginnings to the tenement dwellings of its later years. Henrietta Street is the most intact collection of early to mid - 18th century houses in Ireland. Work began on the street in the 1870s when houses were built as homes for Dublin's most wealthy families. However, by 1911 over 850 people lived on the street, over 100 of those at 14 Henrietta Street. I had a tour of the house in 2019. I was greatly impressed by it and I strongly recommend attending this event to see the house, hear some of its many stories, and discover the layers of Dublin history within its walls. Additional Details: We have a group booking (max 15) for the 11.00am time slot at a group rate of €8 per person. If you hope to attend I would appreciate receiving notice by email or text to me asap, and before Thursday 19th May at the latest. I appreciate late cancellations are sometimes unavoidable.
